What we collect
When you message us on WhatsApp, we get your phone number and display name — that's it from WhatsApp's side. If you fill in anything during onboarding (like your business name or email), we store that too. We also keep basic usage data like when messages were sent and whether they were delivered.
Why we collect it
To run the service. We use your data to send messages, improve how the AI responds, and make sure everything works as expected. We don't build profiles on you or sell insights about your behaviour. It's just what we need to do the job.
WhatsApp & Meta
Wavia runs on the Official WhatsApp Business API — the same infrastructure big companies use. Every message template is approved by Meta before it goes out. We follow WhatsApp's Business Policy to the letter. No workarounds, no grey areas.
Who we share it with
Nobody, for money. We use a small number of trusted infrastructure providers (cloud hosting, monitoring) who are contractually bound to keep your data private. If a court orders us to hand something over, we'll tell you if we legally can. That's the full list.
How long we keep it
Conversation data sticks around for up to 12 months — mainly so the AI can keep improving. Aggregated, anonymised stats might live longer. If you want your data deleted, just message us on WhatsApp and we'll sort it out.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we have on you, correct anything that's wrong, or ask us to delete it entirely. You can also opt out of marketing messages at any time by replying STOP. We'll honour all of these without making it difficult.
Security
Everything is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Only a small number of people at Wavia can access personal data, and only when they need to. We run regular security reviews and fix things fast when we find issues.
Cookies
We use the bare minimum — just what's needed to keep the site working. No ad trackers, no third-party pixels, no creepy retargeting. Analytics are anonymised.
When this changes
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here with a fresh date. If it's a significant change, we'll let you know directly. Continuing to use Wavia after an update means you're okay with it.
